ElectroPutere Gallery presents Thursday January 26th, at 07.00 p.m. the performance Exercises for image decoding realized by ALB (Andreea-Lorena Bojenoiu).

Through her artistic practice, ALB, questions the image both in terms of painting and a broader understanding, as a surface in which takes place the construction of a cultural code. She sends symbolic to an archaeology of the surfaces. Throughout a personal technique, she unfolds the layers of the colours arranged on canvas in order to query the present status of the image, the relationship between the painted image and the perceived reality.

ALB has developed a series of work principles witch she guides in her performative process: the elimination of painterly intent, not to reproduce, not to depict and not to re-create. The performance will be presented for the first time to the public and will be live stream on Facebook and Instagram.

Andreea-Lorena Bojenoiu, born in 1989, lives and works in Craiova and Bucharest. Recent shows include Disposition in Time and Space, Nationale Museum for Contemporary Art, Bucharest, (2014), Biennale ArtEncounters, Timisoara (2015), Skinnd, Suprainfinit, Bucharest (2015).
